About the Role

The Bid/Proposal Coordinator is the person who directly supports the local business leads and wider infrastructure sales teams as a support function to the Infrastructure Division bidding and proposal generation activities. The Bid/Proposal Coordinator is responsible for supporting throughout the bid lifecycle from qualification to contract signature. The Bid/Proposal Coordinator supports and at times dependant on value/complexity leads each opportunity as a project, driving inputs from across the business to meet required timescales and quality in-line with the client’s buying process. Specifically:
• To work as part of a national flexible business development support team ensuring that it is responsive to business requirements and opportunities across Capita Infrastructure.
• To support sales teams and subject matter experts in identifying and winning work through innovative and proactive marketing and business development/bidding activity.
• To develop and maintain an excellent understanding of business capabilities, develop strong relationships with key personnel; deliver high quality and consistent business development activity; and become a key source of information and intelligence
The Bid/Proposal Coordinator leverages Best Practice to ensure that Capita submits timely and high quality bids and proposals to win business in the Infrastructure marketplace. The Bid/Proposal co-ordinator works closely with the Bid/Proposal Managers and sales owner’s to support all members of the bid team, and other key stakeholders in the bid cycle, to deliver market leading bids and proposals with compelling sales propositions.
The spectrum of Infrastructure bid and proposal opportunities is very broad, ranging from small, tactical services/schemes which may be relatively short duration and limited scope to multi-million pound, multi-year services managed over many months. These might represent small or medium sized deals for large local authorities or major deals for smaller, borough or district councils. In addition, there may be more commercial proposals with partners where the bid will a part of a larger proposal.

Essential Skills:
• Extensive experience in Bid Management in a service environment
• Holds or working towards a Higher Education Qualification
• Desirable - APMP Foundation preferably APMP Practitioner
