An exciting new position has become available working for on of our high profile clients in London as a Data and CRM Officer. In this newly created role the post holder will be responsible for defining good data management across the Marketing department, working with business stakeholders to put in place data management processes and CRM data management. They will oversee the data management aspect of delivering direct marketing activity to ensure its compliant with legal and data protection regulations


  • Ensure data management processes are kept up to date
  • Ensure internal controls in Marketing are maintained (Audit and Assurance Faculty (AAF))
  • Maintain data within the CRM, meeting General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements
  • Provide timely and accurate insights and analysis of CRM data to support marketing and decision making
  • Ensure the CRM system is capturing the required customer data and segment accordingly
  • Ensure data cleans and audits are maintained
  • Identify areas of improvement in marketing data and delivering improved efficiency and quality of both the data as well as the processing systems, contributing to and sense checking data design
  • Working as part of a project team with data providers, vendors and agencies as required
  • Build a strong relationship with marketing, business development and other business stakeholders, and being seen as the go-to person for data management.
  • Work with legal, and information management and data protection teams to ensure marketing is complying with legal and data protection regulations.


  • Work with the business to create, define and document a business requirements catalogue for all Marketing deliverables and related processes.
  • Document processes for the Marketing team in relation to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Manage the introduction of new and migrated data into the CRM, Capture, define and maintain data processes, quality standards and requirements to support and track ongoing evolution of the underlying data strategy that drives customer and prospect marketing analysis
  • Takes ownership of data sets, ensuring accuracy
  • Deliver well-presented and accurate regular and ad hoc data reporting to a high standard.
  • Review all reference data to identify areas where data quality can be improved
  • Report any compliance issues, including regulatory implications
  • Provide direct assurance to the Information Asset Owner that the information assets and associated processes for CRM, customer and prospect data are appropriately managed, secured and compliant with applicable legislation, regulation, and company policies.
  • Ownership of small ad hoc projects relevant to marketing as required.

Role requirements

Experience and technical skills

  • Previous experience in a B2B/membership marketing department responsible for end-to-end data processes and systems - this experience may have been gained in a product provider, third party administration organisation, in-house or via a consultancy;
  • Detailed knowledge of database marketing and appropriate use of data, including, regulatory and legal issues (specifically UK Data Protection Act, General Data Protection Regulation, Privacy of Electronic Communications Regulations)
  • Experience of working in high volume, multi-channel customer communications environments, providing key consulting input to process design
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Experience of the pensions market is desirable
  • Advanced MS Office and Excel skills
  • Strong CRM skills using Microsoft Dynamics
