Senior Software Engineer

Titchfield - £32,500 - £40,249

Are you a Software Engineer looking for an organisation that truly values and develops you? Are you looking for a fresh challenge that will really put your skills to the test?

My client is currently undergoing a vast technology transformation, replacing legacy systems and revolutionising the way they deliver their products through the use of Agile and DevOps ways of working. As such, they are looking for progressive and highly skilled Software Engineers who are passionate about working in an environment where they can contribute to the full end to end software lifecycle.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of a wide range of software products, as well as acting as a mentor for more junior members of staff. In return, you will be rewarded with fantastic development opportunities, a great working environment with outstanding onsite facilities, access to high-profile projects and programmes of national significance, and a well-established culture that places significant emphasis on the achievement of a work/life balance.

For your application to be considered, you must be able to evidence in your CV the following:

  • Substantial development experience, ideally in an Agile environment, using two or more of the following: SharePoint, Spark, Python, Scala, Go, Node, Ruby, Java, R, SQL, NoSQL, JavaScript, CSS3, SAAS, Hadoop, PaaS, Cloud infrastructure and Web frameworks such as Rails or Django
  • Proven experience of contributing to coding standards and performing coding reviews
  • Good knowledge of software engineering tools and techniques such as TDD, BDD and/or Pair Programming
  • Working knowledge of software design principles, such as dependency management and re-use
  • Proven capability in the evaluation of existing services and/or open source products to provide solutions
  • Working knowledge of a variety of relational and non-relational database tools and techniques.
  • Solid experience of manual and/or automated testing to ensure quality and performance standards are met
  • Substantial requirements analysis experience, able to work with stakeholders and users at all levels, gathering non-technical requirements and translating them into a workable technical solution
  • Good working knowledge of continuous integration and deployment tools, and a desire to own fully the end to end build and release of digital products.

For more information, please email your CV in the first instance. If your CV evidences the criteria above, a member of the Experis recruitment team will be in touch to discuss your application.
