AGILE PROJECT MANAGER Opportunity – stunning offices, huge digital transformation!!

Permanent – Kings Cross Location – Salary up to £78,000 + bonus’ + benefits

My client, a major financial services organisation, is recruiting an Agile Project Manager as they go through a period of rapid growth as a result of significant investment. Located in the technology hub of King Cross and based in offices that are market-leading, you will be responsible for the delivery of a variety of exciting and extremely technical projects which will enhance the ability to capture, manage and present data to business users. My client are in the process of leveraging Big Data tools to give us a state of the art data platform.

You must be able to work in an agile way, acting as a scrum master role, but also have the ability to work with more classical approaches to project management

You will play an integral part in guiding and facilitating the changes into a more Agile way of working.

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs (or ability to obtain this) with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met
  • Familiarity of Project Management in a Lean/Agile environment
  • Experience in delivering projects in a more classical environment (e.g. Prince2) with ability to manage project financials.
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • A good understanding and appreciation of emerging technology
  • Excellent MS Office skills, in particular with Excel for financial analysis and tracking.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence to manage and document work.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Data warehouse experience highly desirable*

    • Good Degree IT, Software Engineering degree or equivalent
    • Certified Scrum Master Status, preferably Certified Scrum Master Professional/Professional Scrum Master Level II, or Certified Scrum Master Coach
    • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team.
    • Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.)
    • Track record of continued and recent education in Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc.
    • Knowledge of other approaches discussed in the Agile space: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
    • Come from a Software Engineering background
    • Any other certification will be an advantage in Project management (Prince2, APMG, PMP, etc.)
