Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting for large Public Sector organisation who require a Commissioning Manager on a 6 month fixed term contract. The role is due to start ASAP and can be appointed to on an hourly/daily rate or on a salaried basis.

The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and clinicians across the clinical portfolios to improve the quality and outcomes of health services in Lancs.

  • The role supports the delivery of the CCG priorities in driving transformation as well as value for money in planning, commissioning and service delivery
  • Provide commissioning and service improvement support to the heads of commissioning and lead clinicians in reviewing current and future service provision in the clinical portfolios. Identifying gaps and sub-optimal provision in services, managing projects to develop new services and improve existing services, and ensuring that agreed objectives are delivered on time and within budget
  • Lead and support the development and ensure delivery of organizational priorities to deliver national priorities and local commissioning intentions. Specifically in relation to Cancer, leading local implementation of the national cancer taskforce recommendations
  • Work collaboratively with contracting colleagues, other commissioners (including NHS England) and providers in across the region to enable the delivery of all cancer waiting times standards

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of the cancer work programme, working effectively through the commissioning cycle and taking a comprehensive programme approach. Working through the commissioning cycle requires continuous identification of needs, review of service provision, prioritisation, service redesign, planning capacity and managing demand and effective monitoring and performance management
  • Lead the development of project initiation documents and plans, allocate tasks as appropriate, identifying risks, issues and dependencies, considering best practice and options to enable informed
  • Lead and effectively engage key stakeholders in clinical service redesign projects. Apply a structured change management approach and utilise continuous improvement methodologies
  • Pro-actively manage stakeholders, respond to and resolve issues and challenges between different stakeholders when they arise
  • Undertake robust options appraisal, clearly articulating the benefits and dis benefits of each option to inform decision making
  • Present information to a wide range of stakeholders through a variety of different mechanisms in formats that are acceptable for different audiences
