12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Job Purpose

The role is an exciting opportunity to operate in a central coordination role within a major change programme. The role blends both project management and internal communications experience and would suit anyone interested in developing a career in Programme/Project Management Office or Change Communications roles.

The purpose of the PCE is to support the Programme Manager and undertake Programme Management Office responsibilities for documentation, reporting and connecting cross project/workstream support. The role also requires the post holder to manage internal communications, such as drafting all staff notices, fielding frequently asked questions and preparing responses and updating the Transition intranet pages.

The post holder will report to the Senior Programme Manager on a day to day basis but will also be expected to work closely with the Internal Communications Manager.

Essential Criteria

  • A positive and can-do attitude
  • Willing to help others and an excellent team player
  • Highly organised with strong prioritisation and planning skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to analyse and synthesise information and explain complex issues clearly and concisely
  • Resilience, and ability to provide rapid and concise communications, meeting specific and unexpected deadlines
  • Great stakeholder management skills, comfortable working with Senior Executives
  • Knowledge and use of project management or change management methodologies
  • Strong expertise in a coordinating role; for example, as a Secretariat to a Board, as a reporting officer, as a member of a project management office or in an internal communications role.
  • Good problem-solving skills to be able to identify issues and dependencies within plans across all the various projects and workstreams within a programme
  • Strong proficiency with all standard MS Office applications, including MS project.
