Finance Manager required to join a well-established public sector organisation based in Greater Manchester.

My client is offering a fantastic benefits package including; a basic salary of £40,000 - £45,000.

As the Finance Manager, you will part of an exciting period of change and development - having the opportunity to really make it your own.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for maintaining an auditable monthly and annual statutory accounts, ensuring all control systems are adhered to and maintained. They will work closely with the Senior Management Team in order to develop strong internal controls and further develop the finance team.

Finance Manager key duties include;

  • Build, develop and effectively manage the Finance team to ensure high performance and business efficiency
  • Prepare monthly financial information for Senior Management
  • Ensure all financial statements are prepared to comply with all relevant legislation and require statutory deadlines
  • Manage an effective budget setting and monitoring process and effective financial controls
  • Provide financial advice and training as required to budget holders and their staff, to enable them to manage resources effectively
  • Enable budget holders to be more pro-active in their role to minimise costs and maximise income streams with concise and timely information
  • Enhance the current reporting and interrogation of the finance system, to produce meaningful management information for the use of budget holders
  • Maintain effective working relations with outside agencies e.g. Bankers, Funding Agencies, HMRC and Auditors
  • Undertake cash flow projections and organise the necessary investments to ensure effective treasury management
  • Ensure the maintenance of an accurate Assets Register and inventory control
  • Ensure that VAT is correctly accounted for in transactions
  • Responsible for the co-ordination and management of the internal and external audits
