My client, a money advisory service, is recruiting for a Lead Front End Developer as they go through a period of growth. Located in Central London, you will be involved in building the company’s digital capability, building a brand new website from scratch, along with the development of some unique products.

This position allows you to work in an agile environment, using Kanban practices, continuously integrating and delivering code. Training and development is also big on their agenda, with external training courses and classes available, enabling you to fill any gaps in your experience, grow and widen your skill set and progress your career in software development.

Utilising the hottest open source technologies for the front end development, and Ruby technologies for the backend, these opportunities offer a competitive salary, flexible working, plus a double matched pension contribution.

Essential requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Expert knowledge of JavaScript (and common frameworks such as jQuery)
  • Strong knowledge of client-side high performance techniques, and how to detect pitfalls
  • Strong knowledge of a CSS compiler such as SASS or LESS
  • Strong knowledge of web accessibility standards
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering responsive web sites
  • Confident understanding of modern principles of front-end web development, such as semantic markup, mobile-first design and progressive enhancement
  • Extensive experience using Git and GitHub
  • Experience of working directly with stakeholders in a highly professional manner
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work quickly and to tight deadlines
