  • *Senior Finance Manager – 4 month contract–up to £450UMB (Scope inside IR35)- London**

Our client is a leading public sector organisation based in central London who are looking for a Senior Finance Manager to join there busy team.

Key Responsibilities

Daily duties will involve providing expert technical support to the finance leads in the negotiation, monitoring and performance management of local teams as well as the Provision of financial advice to other finance teams in London. You will have lead responsibility in all financial aspects of the negotiation, monitoring and performance management of other acute contracts including detailed analysis of proposals and financial risk modelling to ensure value for money is achieved.
You would also be expected to lead in the support in the development and lead in the provision of financial information in respect of acute elements of medium term service and financial plan, and to provide input to the costing, pricing and financial planning activity of the client, including supporting the development of accurate programme costs and benchmarks using available systems.
You will be responsible for working with other internal stakeholders to develop and implement the agreed resource allocation and budget setting policies for practices and lead in the development and delivery of all financial aspects of the monitoring of acute services agreements. You will monitor performance expenditure in written, numerical and graphical format, to feedback to the board. You must become a support to the finance leads in the development of financial forecasting models and lead in the development of scenario forecasts.
You will lead in the provision of monthly payment and monthly reporting information to ensure timely and accurate results.You will be responsible for leading the finance team’s budgetary control process for the acute services, including identifying cost pressures and financial risks and taking appropriate action.You would also be expected to liaise with internal and external audit, ensuring that financial procedures and controls are adequate, updated and adhered to meet good practice,and that audit recommendations are implemented.
Occasional travel between sites will be expected for this post.

Experience required for this role:

Previous financial/accounts experience in a public sector or government organisation in a senior role.
Qualified CCAB or CIMA Accountant with significant experience in a senior position.
Advanced knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, financial and other aspects of legislation and finance policies.
Knowledge of and competence in the use of financial systems software including spread sheet skills and the ability to develop spread sheet models
Be able to work autonomously guided by Financial Reporting Standards, Manual for Accounts and other policies with the ability to interpret them.
Ability to analyse and interpret highly complex financial and non-financial data in order to make judgement.
Advanced ability to use Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Be able to extract salient information from accounting systems and create advanced databases or spread sheets, using complex formula.
