  • *Financial Operations & Controls Assistant– 12 month contract–up to £35000 per annum - Reading **

Our client is a leading IT and gaming organisation based in reading who are looking for an experienced Finance assistant to join there busy team.

Key Responsibilities:

The role will incorporate working across 2 functions, general finance and control and compliance

Financial operations duties will include:

Creating customer price list preparation and communication and validating customer price Protection claims and issue credits where due.
You will complete Quarterly/Monthly Accrual request templates and calculate quarterly terms rebates, agree proposals with customers and seek necessary approvals. Adhoc analysis and support will all be needed from time to time.

Control and compliance duties will include:

Validating critical customer master data in SAP is supported by valid customer contractual documentation. Follow through with Sales/Legal as needed.
You will be reviewing the accuracy of invoiced prices by comparing the prices in customer invoices to the valid customer price list on date of invoice. Ensuring differences are corrected by logistics.
Identifying manual changes to sales orders during the month ensuring that they are appropriate and according to the MDG policies and customer contract.
Checking that returns are accurate, valid and credit note generated after goods receipt in plant.Checking calculations. Ensuring they are in line with customer contracts. Checking approvals in place and in line with policy and in line with customer contracts.You will also be required to get involved in sales adjustment analysis for PL & BS items and ensures that liabilities are booked completely and correctly to balance sheet.

Experience required for this role:

Previous financial/accounts experience in large corporate environment
Previous experience in completing month end accrual calculations and review, posting journals (basic understanding of debits/credits)
Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking
Work to your own initiative and take personal responsibility for their quality and quantity of output.
Have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related accounting software
