Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting to a permanent Financial Accountant vacancy for a large, complex and forward-looking organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent.

Our client is looking for a proactive and self-motivated Financial Accountant who is experienced in financial accounting and must have or be studying for a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CIPFA.

This Financial Accountant opportunity is offering a package of:

  • £28,000 - £32,500 per annum, with an increment on 1 August 2018 (annual increments)

Duties of the Financial Accountant will include:

  • Undertake regular reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts including investigating and rectifying discrepancies
  • Production of financial accounts to trial balance for organisation and subsidiaries. Providing clear working papers and assistance to audit queries
  • Complete statutory returns in accordance with agreed deadlines. Ensure the information supplied can be evidenced by a clear audit trail performance reconciliation to source systems as appropriate
  • Receive and check payroll data from the payroll team ensuring correct accounting treatment of payment types. Investigate, resolve and refer discrepancies as appropriate and prepare payment analysis to HM Revenue, Department of Social Security etc. Updating the financial system and create data reports for use by stakeholders
  • Administer banking arrangements including investments and loans, keeping all files, including signatory lists and other administrative details up to date. Undertake regular bank reconciliations including ensuring all transactions are accurately identified and allocated in a timely manner. Keep all banking procedures up to date
  • Control of the Value Added Tax returns for the organisation and limited companies. Prepare and file all organisation and subsidiary corporation tax and VAT returns. To keep abreast of tax and VAT legislation and any Act changes, liaising with the tax advisors to develop annual tax planning cycle. Advise Facilities and Services on indirect and direct tax issues
  • Maintenance of the Landlord Register
  • Maintenance of contracts/operating and finance lease registers and undertake regular checks to ensure correct accounting treatment
  • Administration of insurance claims and processes
