Directorate Manager

Sellick Partnership are recruiting on behalf of an NHS Trust for a Directorate Manager to provide timely, efficient and effective Directorate management support ensuring that a responsive, innovative service is provided to the highest possible standards, in line with Trust and Divisional Strategy. You will need to have a high degree of autonomy at an operational level and significant front line presence. You will be required to deputise for the Divisional General Manager as required and to work with the clinical teams to ensure that clinical safety and quality is maintained alongside the business integrity of the Directorate.

Day to day duties include:

  • Provide professional general management support to the Directorate working in partnership with the triumvirate team to deliver a high quality and responsive service.
  • To ensure the Directorate is managed effectively working through the clinical lead(s) on a day to day basis.
  • To ensure effective channels of communication exist and are maintained within and across the Directorates and that there are effective working relationships and links with relevant colleagues in other organisations
  • Act as the key link between the clinical teams and all the Divisional and departmental management teams.
  • To work with other specialties and departments across the Trust, to establish excellent relationships, strong interface pathways and clear mechanisms for the escalation of problems and performance tracking.
  • To assist in the production and monitoring of Directorate and Divisional strategic and operational plans, as part of the annual planning cycle and on an ad-hoc basis as required.

  • To play a major role in the improvement of the operational service delivery in line with the strategic direction of the Trust, leading and working with clinical teams to embed project work and deliver required efficiency and quality improvements.
  • To support the Trust’s performance management framework as part of the triumvirate team be accountable for the performance against all key dimensions to include all access and clinical quality performance targets taking corrective action as required.
  • To work with the informatics team on the effective and efficient gathering and reporting of agreed data including local, network, consortium and national audits.
  • To support the Deputy Divisional Clinical Director in the delivery of risk management and governance processes working closely with the Governance Lead and senior members of the team. This includes maintenance and oversight of the Directorate Risk Register in conjunction with the Clinical lead and Matron.
  • To ensure that quality standards for the Directorates are implemented, including the monitoring of performance, quality assurance and implementation of audit procedures and complaints procedures.
  • To take a Lead role in the tendering and procurement of clinical equipment and consumables, working closely with Finance and the Procurement Team when necessary
