x5 Permanent positions based in London - £37,428 - £41,173 (4k living allowance)

About the Agency
Impacting the lives of over 45 million people in the UK we do more than provide driving licences and number plates - we ensure simpler licensing that is better for our users and results in safer travel on our roads.

You can be part of our future, helping us continue on our journey to move from an organisation that revolved around paper to one that is at the forefront of digital delivery within Government.

We've become the first Government organisation to completely in-source its ICT provision, leading the way in taking control, reducing cost and maximising opportunities for rapid innovation in technology.
Over the next three years we’ve committed to moving off our legacy technology onto new, cloud – based platforms utilising emerging technologies – all this at the same time as building new services, designing them from direct customer engagement.

All of this makes the DVLA Change Portfolio an exciting, challenging and opportunity-rich environment within which to work.

We are currently looking to recruit experienced Senior Business Analysts within our IT Services directorate and want to attract the right people with the right skills. In return we will provide you with a clear career path which supports professional growth, innovation and reward.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll work with key stakeholders to elicit quality requirements across government on policy related change. You'll have experience and expertise from working across a range of complex and challenging digital/data/technology areas and be confident in using Agile tools and techniques.

About you
You will have experience working as a Business Analyst within complex delivery environments and will already hold a Business Analyst Diploma (such as the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis). You’ll have experience in seeing through business change, supporting and facilitating the development and continuous improvement of products and services. It would be advantageous if you have a good understanding of agile and lean practices and make sound judgements on when to use appropriate tools and techniques.

It would be great if you came with experience of managing people but this is not essential, however you must be a strong advocate of continuous professional development. We will look for you to bring strong leadership capabilities with the ability to coach and support within and across the team to enable professional development and growth. You will have the ability to work autonomously with limited direction and thrive in this type of environment and culture. You will have strong internal and external stakeholder engagement experience and the ability to influence and deal with challenge across all grades within the organisation. Above all you will be approachable, enthusiastic and engaged with a positive mind set.

Additional skills & experiences
• Experience in analysis of data to recommend service improvements and make informed decisions.
• Experience of eliciting and analysing requirements and planning project deliverables
• Ability to extract, analyse, interpret, and use complex information and data
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present across large groups and on an individual basis.

Please note that any part of the Job Profile could be tested at sift/interview.

If invited to interview, this may consist of a range of question types. These could include questions about your strengths or how you would respond in any particular situation as well as specific examples of things you have done.
