  • *HR & Payroll Officer - 12 month contract – up £105 PAYE a day (IR35 Scope)–Public Sector Sheffield**

Our client is leading Public Sector organisation based in Sheffield who are looking for HR & Payroll Officer to join their busy team.

Key Responsibilities:

You will work in a fast-paced HR team, directly responsible for liaising with an outsourced payroll/pension supplier and departmental employees. Your expertise will allow you to work with the payroll or pension supplier and employees to resolve complex issues and explain them in an HR context. You will also attend supplier meetings to discuss current service level agreements and comment on ‘day to day’ operational issues.
The role holder will need to be adaptable and resilient, ready to undertake a diverse range of tasks including the following:

• Identify any inaccuracies with pay or pension information and work with the relevant supplier to deal with corrections in a timely manner to cause least disruption;

• Ability to deal with any payroll or pension queries, from employees or key suppliers in a timely fashion. Maintain expertise and knowledge, keep up to date with any legislative changes to provide accurate information;

• Understand and articulate the Department’s HR policies to employees and the external payroll and pension providers to contextualise payroll and pension queries and resolutions

• Maintain an excellent relationship with the external payroll provider and pension provider) to continuously improve pay/pensions information available to employees, and to facilitate secure and accurate pension records;

• Have experience of pension interface with large supplier reporting standards and/or similar reporting experience to other Pension providers;

• Collect or design a range of information to provide analysis and insight to make informed decisions on service development and supplier engagement;

• Deal proactively and flexibly with competing workloads and priorities, respond to requests for high quality reports, communications and outputs in a range of formats within given time limits;

• Maintain products to support the team’s programme of work such as risk registers, plans and supporting products/processes;

• Proficient user of MS Office based solutions, especially Excel;

Experience required for this role:

Previous Payroll and HR experience is essential
Strong stakeholder management skills
Ability to work under pressure
Competent in all Microsoft packages
