Role: Business Development Support Officer
IR35 Status:
Up to £20.44 per hour PAYE or £27.47 Umbrella
6 months initially

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Support Officer to join a leading organisation in Durham.

In this key role, you will support the Business Development & Procurement team to ensure that their workstream in respect of sales, marketing, CRM and business development targets achievement are planned and managed effectively, and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the Team’s business support function, including developing and managing the team’s business plan, progress and reporting risk and issue management
  • Liaise with appropriate functions to support the management of the sales pipeline from suggestions through to mobilisation,
  • Identify potential opportunities from advertised opportunities including scanning eprocurement websites, developing marketing campaigns and progressing opportunities
  • Managing submissions of expressions of interest, pre-qualification and bid documentation to published timetables
  • Lead the management of a comprehensive library of contract information
  • Support all corporate business returns, including planning, sales pipeline, customer account plans and workforce returns
  • Support the development of customer account management across the organisation, managing the ongoing management of customer account plans and measurement of customer satisfaction to identify areas for improvement.

Key experience required:

  • Public Sector / Government experience highly desirable
  • Experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
  • Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required drafting briefing papers and correspondence
  • Ability to manage own workload and make informed decisions in the absence of required information, working to tight and often changing timescales
