We are looking for an experienced Housing Lawyer to join an admirable Local Authority based in North London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Housing Lawyer to join a fast-paced, commercial organisation which is highly regarded and based in a lovely area of London. Excellent client care skills are essential, as the successful Housing Lawyer will be managing a number of clients.

The successful candidate must have previous experience of conducting their own advocacy and first tier tribunal experience is highly desirable. Candidates who have a strong in-depth knowledge of leasehold and homelessness matters, would be best suited to this role.

This is a varied role, where no two days look the same. Duties will include;

  • Conducting general housing and litigation work on behalf of the Local Authority
  • Matters include housing disrepair, rent arrears, possession, leasehold matters, homelessness, service charge work
  • Drafting notices, witness statements and pleadings
  • Advocating on behalf of the Council

This role would suit an experienced Housing Lawyer who is flexible and able to prioritise tasks, as advocacy will take place alongside running a varied caseload.

The contract is for an initial 6 month period, with the possibility of extension thereafter.

Applications are welcomed from candidates who have previous Local Authority experience and have worked within Local Government.
