Test Engineer – Portsmouth

The Role

Working as part of the Maritime Group, a team of nearly 500 based across 16 sites in the UK, you will join a diverse team of technical specialists, responsible for delivery of client projects that includes service patching, incident resolution, security response, acceptance into service, technology upgrades, problem management, datacentre operations, automation and efficiency improvements, technical mentoring, presales input, and more.

As a Test Engineer, you will be part of a team of 6 assigned to a high profile MOD project to replace a large, complex deployed system. You will proactively work with project teams to plan, author and implement test strategies and scripts for IT Systems

The fit

You must be SC clearable, as an experienced Test Engineer you will have experience of administering or deploying IT systems and be comfortable in the Test and Validation phase of service delivery. You will have experience of developing and authoring test scripts that are specific to IT systems and be at ease running those tests. Working across a varied tech stack including Microsoft Server, VMWare and a mixture of COTS and custom applications, you will lead the test and validation phase of project delivery for your assigned tasks.

You will use your calm and methodical approach to problem solving to meet the daily challenges faced by the team and you’ll be able to innovate and adapt to changing client requirements as required.

With a passion for IT, you will be able to demonstrate broad exposure to a wide range of technologies gained from your work experience or personal projects. You will also show willingness to contribute to design and implementations as required.
