The Company

Advantage Resourcing are working closely with a Government Authority to recruit a Behavioural Scientist initially working from home.

The Role/ Team

The post will be based in the Social and Behavioural Research Team (SBR), a dynamic team of 10 people based in Analysis and Science Directorate (ASD). The team is currently made up of 9 social researchers and 2 senior behavioural scientists. The focus of this post is likely to be on applying behavioural science to policy development and implementation on Recovery.

Main Duties:

  • Staying up-to-date of policy developments and direction to identify opportunities where behavioural science can provide greatest impact in guiding and improving proposed policy interventions
  • Reacting at pace to emerging policy challenges and requests for input/advice, robustly applying behavioural science tools and evidence
  • Understanding the best and most up-to-date evidence and data to recommend novel policy ideas, then working policy leads to develop and, where appropriate, implement these propositions
  • Design/guide the associated research or data gathering to inform the design of behavioural interventions, which will include working closely with other social researchers and analysts in the Department
  • Where relevant/feasible, designing evaluation methodology to generate quantified evidence of impact in relation to behavioural interventions.

The Successful Candidate

  • Established track record in designing and managing behavioural science projects and providing advice and briefing - employing the full range of behavioural science tools, theory and frameworks.
  • Proven ability to apply behavioural science knowledge and expertise in policy, delivery and/or communications contexts to improve outcomes.
  • Is able to apply behavioural science expertise and evidence in a fast-paced policy environment, ensuring relevant, timely and impactful behavioural science input to policy decisions.
  • Ideally experience within Public Sector
